7. Definition of a Hallucination

7.1. For the purpose of this offer, a hallucination is strictly defined as an AI-generated response produced by the Vendict platform that:

  • States a factual claim or bases a response on data that cannot be linked to any source evidence provided by the client
  • Falsely attributes information to a source that does not contain the referenced content (e.g., citing a SOC 2 report section that does not exist or misrepresents its meaning);
  • Fails to include a required citation or reference tag in modules where traceability is explicitly part of the feature set.

7.2. The following do not qualify as hallucinations:

  • Omissions, summaries, or rewordings that remain materially consistent with the uploaded evidence;
  • Responses based on client inputs that are incomplete, outdated, contradictory, or ambiguous;
  • Any AI-generated content that includes disclaimers, uncertainty markers (e.g. “based on available documentation”), or approximations consistent with compliance review best practices;
  • Issues arising from misconfiguration, human override, or unsupported formats (e.g., scanned documents with unreadable text);
  • Styling, formatting, or grammar errors that do not alter factual meaning.
  • Temporary bugs or malfunctions in Vendict's Platform and/or any of its supporting interfaces.

7.3. All hallucination claims must be submitted with a clear explanation, the original input, the Vendict response, and the relevant evidence (or lack thereof). Vendict’s compliance review team will assess the claim and issue a final determination.
